On Thursday 9th July, PWA hosted its third annual Heartbeat Charity Tournament, bringing together clients, colleagues and partners for an afternoon of friendly competition in support of Heartbeat.
Taking place at Preston Sports Club, we swapped the football boots for a series of activities, including rounders, a sack race, a relay race, an egg and spoon race, a three-legged race and tug of war.
Teams from the following companies took part:
- PWA Planning
- Harrison Drury
- Napthens
- McDade Roberts
- FWP
- Applethwaite Homes
- Urban Green
The tournament saw each company enter a team of eight and pay an entry fee, with all funds raised being used to support the charity.
The finalists of the rounders and track were decided with a tug of war, where FWP emerged as the standout performers, taking home the trophies for both events. After the games, everyone headed to The Continental pub in Preston for drinks and a presentation.
The event raised over £1,000 for Heartbeat, which provides life-changing support to more than 950 people living with heart conditions across Lancashire every week.
Paul Walton, managing director of PWA, said: “It’s fantastic to see clients and local companies coming together to enjoy the event and supporting a charity that does such invaluable work across Lancashire. Heartbeat makes a real difference to the lives of hundreds of local people every week, so we’re delighted to have raised more than £1,000 to support its vital work.
“A huge thank you to everyone who took part, entered a team and helped make the day such a success. Your generosity and enthusiasm made it a fantastic afternoon.”
